Course Learning Outcome

Being able to:

1.      Explain and elaborate types of business, business plan, business opportunities in regional, national and global scale (C1;2 – C2;2), being able to build entrepreneurial characteristics (A4;8), identify and estimate market behaviour (C1;6 – C2;1)

2.      Explain and to make a pattern on business and marketing strategies, determining business locations, control systems and development, as well as differentiating, anticipating and managing risks (C1;3-C2;20-A1;1-C2;14)

3.      Mention and to elaborate the definition of ethics in business (professional ethics, business ethics, religion/beliefs ethics, and social ethics) (C1;2 – C2;2)

4.      Mention and to explain the definition of profession, characteristics of the profession, and ethical principles (C1;2-C2;2)

5.      Mention and to explain types of construction business (consulting, supervising, general contractor, specialty contractor, construction industry, property) (C1;2 – C2;2)

6.      Describe and to elaborate construction business profile (C1;2 – C2;2)

7.      Correlate civil engineering courses with various construction business such as design courses, construction management, cost estimation, scheduling, and concrete technology (C4;11-P1;3)

8.      Mention and to explain the required steps for the establishment of a construction company: requirements, personnel, permits, utilities, equipment, and initial funding (C1;2 – C2;2)

Objectives:

1.      To broaden students insights into business opportunitie and to give students the experience to market products and trade (A5;1-A5;3-P3;6)

2.      To Identify household needs, thus giving insights into daily needs-based business opportunities, to find information from street vendors in identifying the revenue as well as trade and market source (C1;17-C3;14)

3.      To promote and negotiate product while preserving business morals. (A4;12-A5;2)
