Course Learning Outcomes |
Student’s competencies: Being able to: 1. Explain and to distinguish soil parameters in designing foundations, types of shallow foundation (Terzaghi, Mayerhoff, Vesic) (C2;2-C3;14) 2. Explain and to distinguish types of ground failures (C2;2-C3;14) 3. Explain and to analyze eccentricity of shallow foundation (C2;2-C4;1) 4. Explain and to classify individual, combined and raft footings (C2;2-C3;14) 5. Design shallow foundation (C6;18) 6. Design gravity and cantilever walls, open cut/braced excavations and simple steel sheet piles in terms of soil strength & stability aspects (C6;18) 7. Explain, calculate, and analyze gravity and cantilever walls (Rankine and Coulomb, Mononobe and Okabe) (C2;2-C3;16-C4;1) 8.
