Content |
A. Lecturing 1. The main properties of the soil and the following required test and its classification: index properties, size and shape of soil particles, properties of very fine soil fractions, mechanical analysis of soils, soil aggregate, consistency of fine-grained soils, soil classification, minimum requirements for adequate soil description 2. Shear strength parameters and the consolidation: shear strength parameters, shear box test, triaxial compression test, Van shear test, standard penetration test, cone penetration test, parameter of consolidation 3. Validation methods on compaction and introduction to problematic soil: compaction, compaction machine, proctor test, sand cone test, plate loading test, types problematic soil, expansive soil and solution, collapsible soil 4. Soil investigation and report: methods of soil exploration, disturbed and undisturbed samples, visual inspection, challenge of soil investigation in practice, report 5. Bearing capacity and design isolated footing: bearing capacity include based on SPT, settlement, water table, eccentric foundation due to permanent and temporary loads |
